Maths & Chemistry
Workshop Maths & Chemistry
Zaragoza, Spain, June 20-22 2012
Place: Facultad de Ciencias, Universidad de Zaragoza
Aim of the workshop
Mathematical chemistry is a truly interdisciplinary subject, a field of rapidly growing importance. Chemistry needs mathematically rigorous studies. The level of complexity of chemical problems is often very high and require mathematical approaches. The WS pretends to put in contact scientists in different areas, mainly mathematicians and chemists, to analyze actual problems and how Maths can help in searching solutions for them. In this case several topics, between others, which will be treated are:
- Nonlinear Mathematical Mechanics, Partial Differential Equations, in particular Navier-Stokes equations.
- Mathematical Fluid Dynamics.
- Analytic approximations for differential equations from physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Genetic regulatory networks and metabolic networks.
- New mathematical models in chemistry and biology.
- ...
